The Healing Power of Client-Led Touch

Touch is a portal to access the unmet or overwhelmed desires of the person. The purpose of using touch to heal trauma is to correct the violating or abandoning experiences that occurred so early in life that the person cannot find words for, experiences that have been stored in the body, in every organ and joint and muscle, and in every inch of the skin.

Every body deserves to be held, touched and loved with exquisite presence, care, and respect.

Having the experience of one way, client-led touch provides a container in which the person receiving can stay safe and focused.

With exquisitely present and loving touch, we can soften what has become hard, numb, and guarded as a result of violation or neglect. We can re-wire neuro pathways that have previously associated touch with abuse, guilt, shame and anger.

Loving touch contradicts self-loathing, soothes the effects of trauma, and helps to replace the imprints of painful, unwanted touch with pleasurable wanted touch.

When using touch to integrate and release trauma, a person doesn’t need to literally remember the trauma associated with the stuck energy in the body. One only needs to be willing to stay present to any challenging feelings and sensations that come up surrounding the trauma, while the practitioner facilitates the release of any emotional contractions stuck in the fibers and tissue of the body.
